HACKETT CAN HACK IT WITH THE UTES

September  2013

by Jodie Newell

From the prodigious Scotch College in Melbourne Australia to Salt Lake City Utah, Tom Hackett’s college football journey has seen him perform in the tough Pacific 12 Conference which sees high profile teams in USC, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA & Arizona State fighting for place at the top of the NCAA standings.

Hackett has taken all in his stride posting some impressive numbers as the Utes continue to surprise the footballing pundits who had all but written off Utah’s chances.

Interestingly at Scotch College where Hackett attended, former Collingwood football player, Barry Price was sports director (he retired last year) Price was renowned for his immaculate kicking skills. His crisp stab pass that was delivered perfectly to goal-kicking ace Peter McKenna is one of legend. Now in 2013 Hackett is also trying to make a name for himself via his footskills and so far is doing well in the special team unit of the Utes.

NMG Sports would like to graciously thank Liz Abel the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Communications of the University of Utah for her assistance

in setting up the interview with Tom as well as supplied media.
